PTC Training Center

A.M. Dental is a PTC licensed training facility. The PTC Skill Learning Systems consists of 31 video training programs on 12 DVDs, 9 technical management manuals, standard support materials and special instruments, all of which ensure the system will actually go into full use in the laboratory.

Simplifying Posterior Anatomy™

A 2 part program:

  • Provides the laboratory's foundation for training both skilled and unskilled technicians in the area of posterior dental anatomy. Technicians and trainees alike gain a solid reliable reference point for all crown and bridge waxing, porcelain building and contouring.
  • Is an ideal tool for prescreening new applicants prior to hiring.

Crown & Bridge Anatomical Waxing™

A 3 part program:

  • Is the solution for consistent high quality, full cast crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays. Easy to follow step-by-step procedures guide for accurate and consistent results. Problem areas such as high bites are addressed and solved. Vital training aid for cosmetic restorations (glass or porcelain press techniques).
  • Less time is spent polishing and labor costs are reduced.

Metal Design and Fabrication™

A 3 part program:

  • Teaches technicians to produce quality porcelain to metal understructures consistently and efficiently. Continuous problems between the waxing and porcelain departments are eliminated when this system is implemented. Helps to avoid improper pontic placement in multiple unit bridges. Provides the appropriate interproximal space for enough porcelain on large bridges. Contains seven wax feature modifications for all porcelain to metal understructures
  • In-house remakes due to improper design and pontic placement will disappear.

Anterior and Posterior Porcelain Application™

A 5 part program:

  • Teaches all the fundamentals of working with porcelain and providing the standards of quality, consistency and efficiency. The system's method of building to size eliminates wasted time in contouring and increases the overall vitality of each case. The system includes procedures for opaquing, porcelain application for anterior and posterior single units and bridges. Features nine different subtle internal color effects.
  • Provides a laboratory systematic procedures and objectives to produce high quality porcelain restorations while still maintaining high productivity.

Contouring Anterior Bridges™

A 2 part program:

  • A step-by-step system that enables technicians to produce high-quality, natural looking anterior restorations. The quality of work remains consistent from technician to technician since everyone is trained on the same set of procedures.
  • An extensive technical foundation gives technicians the knowledge, opinion and judgment to be able to modify procedures to meet all variables found in natural cases.

Contouring Posterior Bridges™

A 3 part program:

  • Technicians are taken through the procedures required to produce lifelike porcelain posterior restorations. The quality of work remains consistent from technician to technician since everyone is trained on the same set of procedures. Optimum levels of quality with maximum levels of productivity.
  • Crowns and bridges will have the lifelike, three dimensional qualities found in natural posterior teeth.

Color in Dental Ceramics™

A 2 part program:

  • Eliminates the guesswork in external staining and the characterization of porcelain restorations. Technicians can produce restorations that have vitality and provide a precise match for the patient and fully integrates with the internal color techniques used in the PTC Anterior and Posterior Porcelain Application System. Provides a full color booklet for the technician and dentist to communicate precisely about subtle color characteristics of the patient's teeth.

Training Management System™

A 2 part program:

  • Provides laboratory owners or managers with the tools to get better control over the technical aspects of running the crown and bridge departments. Covers how to best determine technical resources available and how to better utilize them through the Skill Learning Systems. The second part shows the laboratory owner, manager or supervisor how to operate and implement the Skill Learning Systems to achieve the maximum benefits possible. Provides the tools to track the quality and productivity of technicians objectively.
